  1. DEFEND ORANIENBURG AIRFIELD

  3. On April 10, 1945, a force of 1300 heavy
  4. bombers targeted airfields thought to be
  5. jet bases.  Approximately fifty Me 262s 
  6. rose to intercept the bombers.  Using 
  7. tactics that involved an attack by one 
  8. or two aircraft, mostly aimed at 
  9. stragglers or outer elements of the 
  10. formation, the jets had their most 
  11. successful day against the Eighth Air 
  12. Force heavies.  But this was not without 
  13. cost to the Luftwaffe: twenty Me 262s 
  14. were claimed as destroyed on this day.

  18. You and your wingman are north of the
  19. bombers as they approach your home 
  20. airfield at Oranienburg.  They appear to 
  21. be unescorted, so you should be able to
  22. concentrate fully on stopping the 
  23. bombers.  Other 262s are operating in 
  24. your immediate vicinity, so be aware of 
  25. their presence.  Your jets are armed 
  26. with R4M 55-mm air-to-air rockets.
